  • Re-established this OTC course into curriculum after 5 year hiatus; reformatted course for offering in distance environment
  • Incorporated OTC formulary paper into course as major requirement
  • Expanded course credit from 2 to 3 credit hours in 2006
  • Proposal pending to transition course from elective to required status within curriculum (target 2008)

PHAR 7001 and 7002 Early Practicums I and II

  • Developed initial course offering for PHAR 7001 (first year early practicum) and collaborated with V. Dennis to develop second year early practicum course

Long-Term Research and Scholarly Interests

  • Promoting the rational use of medications in individuals through the development and application of innovative clinical pharmacy services and providing accurate drug information to health care providers and consumers.
  • Establishing programs and methods for identifying and reducing the risk of adverse drug reactions focusing on elderly populations.
  • Advancing the knowledge of pharmacologic activity in the elderly population through pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and therapeutic outcome based projects.
